Due to circumstances beyond our control, the Symphony of Southeast Texas regrets to announce the cancellation of the Memorial concert for violinist Yu Gu on January 26, 2020. Maestro Chelsea Tipton II will have a tribute to Mr. Gu before the Faure Requiem piece at our Classic Series III concert, February 15, 2020 at the Julie Rogers Theatre. The Symphony of Southeast Texas, embarking on its 67th season, is a regional, professional orchestra based in Beaumont, Texas. The Symphony performs a number of subscription concerts, educational programs and other concerts throughout Southeast Texas each year. SOST’s home base is the Julie Rogers Theatre in downtown Beaumont. The orchestra is composed of local musicians from Beaumont vicinity, as well as many musicians from the Houston and Lake Charles areas. Selections from the upcoming concerts include everything from Brahms and Hanson to Elgar and Copland. Bring the whole family out to see the Wizard of Oz on-screen with music by the SOST orchestra.
