SOST is committed to helping young students explore the wonders of playing an instrument or being part of a musical group. Through a special series of small ensembles or full orchestra, performances take place at various schools throughout Southeast Texas or for that first concert hall experience at the Julie Rogers Theater during the spring semester. “The Carnival of the Animals” with Shangri La Gardens

Join Shangri La Gardens, the Symphony of Southeast Texas, and the Lutcher Theater for a virtual learning opportunity where music meets nature.  Featuring The Carnival of the Animals by Camille Saint-Saëns, we engage our active listening skills to find the similarities between the sounds of music and Mother Earth.
