The Symphony of Southeast Texas is pleased to announce our fourth and final Classic Series performance of the 66th season, French Pairings. Our concert on April 6, 2019 will feature Saint-Saëns, Fauré and Ravel in a lovely evening of French composers.
The “Bacchanale” from Samson et Dalila presents Saint-Saëns writing using an exotic mode of expression that was becoming increasingly popular among French composers of the era. Fauré’s Requiem will feature Abigail Dueppen, Soprano and Dalton Woody, Baritone. The orchestra will be joined by the SOST Chorus and Lamar University Choir for the works by Fauré and Ravel. The final performance of the evening will be Ravel’s Daphnis et Chloé Suite No. 2, one of the greatest scores of ballet writing in the twentieth century.
Please join us Saturday, April 6, 2019 at 7:30pm at the Julie Rogers Theatre for Classic Series IV. This amazing show is made possible thanks to the support of our concert sponsors, Merrill Lynch and Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas. Our sponsors help the Symphony of Southeast Texas play a role in the education, entertainment, and cultural enrichment of all residents of Southeast Texas.
