The Symphony of Southeast Texas is thrilled to announce our second Pops Series concert of our 67th season. The performance on March 7, 2020 is all about Oz!
Follow the yellow brick road down to the Julie Rogers Theatre to see the wonderful Technicolor masterpiece that is The Wizard of Oz! A first for Southeast Texas, our concert features a unique presentation. Maestro Chelsea Tipton II will conduct our orchestra as they play all of the background music from the original score with Dorothy, the scarecrow and others. You will view the film on a huge screen, but hear the music live from the stage!
We will be having several fun special events during the evening including a costume contest at 6:30pm in the lobby with wonderful prizes. So, come out to the Julie and travel with Dorothy, her dog Toto and friends, as she tries to return to Kansas with the help of the Wizard of Oz.

The Symphony of Southeast Texas, embarking on its 67th season, is a regional, professional orchestra based in Beaumont, Texas. Led by Maestro Chelsea Tipton II, the Symphony performs a number of subscription concerts, educational programs and other concerts throughout Southeast Texas each year. SOST’s home base is the Julie Rogers Theatre in downtown Beaumont. The orchestra is composed of local musicians from Beaumont vicinity, as well as many musicians from the Houston and Lake Charles areas. Selections from the final concert include Glinka, Elgar and Copland.
