The Symphony of Southeast Texas is pleased to announce our first concert of the 2020-21 season, Soundscapes. We are excited to get back on stage and perform for SETX again!
The season opener on September 19, Cinematic Impressions, includes pieces from Bach, Greig and Dvorak. Maestro Chelsea Tipton II will be leading SOST small chamber groups in this concert at the Beaumont Community Players mainstage theatre, The McFaddin Ward Auditorium. Although they will be performing with no audience; the magical music will be available in the comfort of your home via a special YouTube link to our season ticket subscribers. As the safety measures due to the COVID pandemic continue, a temporary solution has been made to provide a concert through an internet performance.
We hope you can share the evening with us! Bach’s Brandenburg concerto includes a spirited dance-like structure that will have you wanting to get up and move. Grieg, a master of historical composition, uses 18th century dance forms expressed in 19th century language in his Holberg Suite. To showcase the virtuosity of SOST’s wind section, Maestro Tipton features Dvorak’s Wind Serenade, a charming suite of old-world dances illustrating a combination of aristocracy and common folk styles. A concert to welcome back our audience with a variety of musical styles!
For our prospective single ticket buyers, we will offer the link to watch the concert for a minimum donation of $25. Simply fill out the Donation form on our website and we will email you the YouTube link the night of the concert. This would be a great way to experience the wonderful SOST orchestra in the comfort of your living room!
Our deepest thanks go out to our show sponsor, Goodyear Beaumont Chemical and our live stream sponsor, UBS. Sponsors like this help the Symphony of Southeast Texas play a role in the education, entertainment, and cultural enrichment of all residents of Southeast Texas.
