The Symphony of Southeast Texas announces auditions to be held in Beaumont, Texas, on Saturday, September 12, 2026 for the following positions:
-Section First Violin (1 position)
-Section Second Violin (2 positions)
-Substitute Violin
AUDITION REQUIREMENTS:
PLEASE EMAIL FOR EXCERPT LIST AND AUDITION REQUIREMENTS. DEADLINE TO REQUEST EXCERPTS IS SEPTEMBER 1, 2026.
Musicians interested in auditioning should contact the Symphony of Southeast Texas Director of Operations, Mason Hendrix, by email at mhendrix@sost.org by September 1, 2026 to receive the excerpts and be considered for an audition slot.
The Symphony of Southeast Texas, embarking on its 74th season, is a regional, per-service professional orchestra based in Beaumont, Texas. The Symphony performs a number of subscription, run-out, and educational concerts each year for the greater Southeast Texas area, making its home at the Julie Rogers Theatre in downtown Beaumont. Our orchestra is composed of local musicians from the Beaumont area, as well as many musicians from the Houston and Lake Charles areas. Selections from the upcoming season include: Copland—Lincoln Portrait, Rachmaninov-Symphonic Dances, Tchaikovsky—Piano Concerto, Dvorak—Symphony No. 9, Rossini—Cenerentola Overture, Debussy—Danses sacree et profane, Handel—Harp Concerto, Zhou Tian—Transcend, Gershwin—Porgy and Bess and Pops performances with the Music of the Nights.
