John Williams is an American composer, conductor, and pianist. With a career spanning over six decades, he has composed some of the most recognizable film scores in cinematic history, to many of the highest-grossing films of all time, including Jaws, the Star Wars series, Superman, E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, the Indiana Jones series, Home Alone, the first two Jurassic Park films, Schindler’s List, and the first three Harry Potter films, Williams has been associated with director Steven Spielberg since 1974, composing music for all but three of his feature films.
This concert features overtures and themes from movies including Jurassic Park, Born on the Fourth of July, Far and Away, The Midway, Schindler’s List, Star Wars, and other favorites.
Join us as we enter the Magical, Mystical World of this great American Composer. From a land far, far away, John Williams brings to Earth the soundtracks from movies that are classics in our culture. Our first pops concert of the season will take you on a cinematic trip from Jurassic Park, to the epic descriptions from Schindler’s List, back up to the galaxies of our space frontier through the music of Star Wars and then back into the time of Hogwarts and Harry Potter.
